No Atheists
In A Foxhole

Rudyard Kipling

" “When you're left wounded on
Afganistan's plains and

the women come out to cut up what remains,
Just roll to your rifle

and blow out your brains,
And go to your God like a soldier”
General Douglas MacArthur

" “We are not retreating. We are advancing in another direction.”

“It is fatal to enter any war without the will to win it.”
“Old soldiers never die; they just fade away.
“The soldier, above all other people, prays for peace,
for he must suffer and be the deepest wounds and scars of war.”
“May God have mercy upon my enemies, because I won't .”
“The object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other bastard die for his.

“Nobody ever defended, there is only attack and attack and attack some more.
“It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died.
Rather we should thank God that such men lived.
The Soldier stood and faced God
Which must always come to pass
He hoped his shoes were shining
Just as bright as his brass
"Step forward you Soldier,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't
Because those of us who carry guns
Can't always be a saint."
I've had to work on Sundays
And at times my talk was tough,
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny
That wasn't mine to keep.
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep,
The Soldier squared his shoulders and said
And I never passed a cry for help
Though at times I shook with fear,
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand,
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand."
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod
As the Soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, you Soldier,
You've borne your burden well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell."

People like Ahmad Ismail are not fit to lick the boots of "squatters" like Sergeant Choo Woh Soon Pingat Gagah Berani
Sunday, September 21, 2008
This "squatter" is family, my wife's uncle. He lives in Taiping, Perak. As the section was looking for a good spot to be covered from view, Lance Corporal Choo took cover behind the trunk of a banana tree. A little moment after that at approximately 1815 hrs, suddenly, a person appeared before him. Lance Corporal Choo tried to signal the Platoon Sergeant, Sgt. Ismail who was nearby. The Sergeant failed to see Lance Corporal Choo who was frantically signaling him.

Left: Sergeant Choo Woh Soon in his ceremonial dress, with a sabre (click on image to enlarge)

It never crossed the mind of LCpl Choo that the person in front of him was a Communist Terrorist. His first thought was that the person was an “Orang Asli” (aborigine), as the person was not wearing a shirt or a hat and was wearing long pants which had been cut off at the legs, just below the knees. Apart from that he was carrying a salt container which was normally used by the aborigines.

LCpl Choo carefully observed the movement of this individual, without the individual being aware. The individual laid down a Tommy gun and then removed his pack and stood as though waiting for someone. When LCpl Choo saw the Tommy gun, he realized that he was the Enemy. The Enemy now moved forward, looking, probably for his friend or friends. LCpl Choo lay still and was still not detected by the Enemy.

He continued observing the Enemy. He could actually hear his heart thumping in his chest. LCpl Choo continued observing, once in awhile trying to get the attention of Sgt Ismail. LCpl Choo did not want to react without orders as he was instructed by his Platoon Commander not to open fire without his orders. The Lieutenant was not aware at the entire goings on, as he was at that time behind a big log and his back was towards the Enemy. The Sergeant too was unaware Continued here.....

Another Choo places his life on the line for his country
Friday, September 04, 2009
I am talking about Choo Hou Ran. He was doing his sixth form in Anglo Chinese School, Ipoh in the year 2007. He dropped out of school when he successfully passed the interview to become a Navy Cadet. What is unique about this Choo is that he is the third generation of Choo's to place his life on the line for Malaysia. I attended his passing out parade on the 11th July 2009 at the Lumut Naval Base. He was commissioned by the King. I would like to thank his sister Vivienne and his brother Kelvin for some of the photos they forwarded to me. Here is a video clip of that memorable occasion.

Here is the link to youtube

The first generation of Choo's who served in the forces was of course his grandad, he is the guy in the centre on top of the cabin of the truck. I had written about him previously, he also happens to be my father in law.

Then there is Choo Hou Ran's grand uncle,he is the shortest guy in the centre of this image, who also happens to be a valour award winner.

He is Sergeant Choo Woh Soon - Pingat Gagah Berani During Operation "Seladang"(Gaur). Read his story here, on how he killed the enemy.

Finally his Dad, Petty Office Choo Kam Ming who joined the Royal Malaysian Navy.

More pictures of his dad are found here here.

Lee Kuan Yew is wrong.......... very wrong...........
Friday, September 29, 2006
Angry Indonesian lawmakers are demanding a public apology and explanation from Singapore's founding father Lee Kuan Yew after he reportedly said the minority Chinese-Indonesian community was being systematically marginalised. Malaysian leaders also have reportedly demanded an apology from Lee. The source in full. Bernama.

Yesss.. he was wrong in saying only Chinese are marginalised. Alot of us minorities too have been marginalised. He is wrong because he did not mention the Indians, the Orang Asli, the Malays in the rural areas, the East Malaysian natives like the Kadazans, Ibans oh yes the Penans where, Penan plight shocks Suhakam team - subscription required. Many other minorities were not mentioned that's why Lee Kuan Yew is wrong!

I was going through Jeff Ooi's blog on the topic "Chinese marginalised in Malaysia': Damage control in HarryLee-land" when my eye caught this comment by a reader named harin. His is the 3rd comment. Here are extracts from his comments :

1. it only takes very little to sway the malaysian chinese to be on singapore's side.

2. would the malaysian chinese help this nation if ever singapore were to attack and slaughter us?

3. You live in this country you call yours, make your fortune here, bring up your children and family here, but yet when loyalty test you, you fail to stand up.

4. You jump at the very opportunity you get to stab the people you have been living with all this while.

5. Do you live here to just suck this country's resources dry, or will you be here through thick and thin, through happiness and sorrow?

6. This is my country. I would fight and die if and when the call comes. Could you say the same about yourself?

7. It would have been great if we stood united with one voice as malaysians and gave LKY a piece of our mind. A famous man once said " ask not what your country can do for you, but ask what you can do for your country".

The problem with people like harin is you do not know about people like these Chinese who were willing to die for Malaysia unconditionally, they only wanted to be treated fairly. The current situation is like "some people are more equal than others". People like him are WIND BAGS, full of foul air and all empty talk. These are the marginalised Chinese. A couple of them I know. Like they say a picture paints a thous...ooops a million words. The problem with people like hani is they live under a coconut shell, listen to what the mainstream spins....and believe the crap dished out.

My wife's uncle, Sergeant Choo Woh Soon. He is the short guy in the centre from the Recce Regiment. All of them are holding sabres not swords. Yes, he is a Chinese. Sabres are the weapons of the cavalry. He is the guy who killed some of the killers of Henry Gurney. Click on the image to enlarge.

Here is my father-in-law when he was very young. He is the guy in the centre of this armoured vehicle. This was taken at the Police Depot. It was during the Malayan Emergency. He is accompanied by other Chinese. They walked the talk, hani! Incidentally his name is Choo Woh Hup, the elder brother of Choo Woh Soon.

In Taiping, my father in law was a Corporal. In front of the members of the Kinta Valley Homeguard preparing for a firing practice.Click on image to enlarge.

Honour Guard mounted by the Kinta Valley Homeguard at Silibin,Ipoh, Perak. The bugler is from the Royal Malay Regiment. Click on image to enlarge. Anyone knows the details of this camp?

In the military, the Non-Malay is ridden like a horse
Saturday, February 18, 2023

Friday, November 12, 2010 -  Being republished due to "Ramasamy confronts 'big racial lie" -  "Now for the big racial truth. The fact is that non-Malays have never stopped loving this country. The country stopped loving us." That's the frigging truth!!!

This is shit being spewed against the Non Muslims"....and I am being extremely polite, for his statement that "non-Malays shun a military career because they lacked patriotism".
His sense of history and the contributions of the Chinese, Indians and our brothers from East Malaysia towards the sovereignty of Malaysia is being actively abrogated by him. That is a racist and bigoted view, pure and simple.
Go here to look at the winners of valour awards, not including those who had laid down their lives, are maimed, not forgetting the Non Malay Police Officers.  Use the drop down menu in the archives on the top right column. Guess when the Chinese and Indians were bleeding and dying for this nation, he might just have been a "dirty glint in his father's eyes" or just "swimming in his father's cojones".
I will not allow my emotions get to me by being vulgar talking about our Defence Minister who cannot construct a decent sentence in English, I will not dwell on that. I am not insulting this dull fellow, just so that this dimwitted, crass and shallow minded individual needs some input, who was the first Malaysian to be awarded the "Pingat Gagah Berani"? He was a Chinese! Sergeant Chong Yong Chin PGB of the First Federation Regiment, dey Zahid I guess you did not know that. Insults have to be politely reciprocated with civility, I am doing just that.
Did you not know who was the first recipient of the "Pingat Gagah Berani" in the Congo? Hey you dingaling , that person too was a Chinese, Lt Lee Ah Pow PGB , read about how shoddily he was treated too! There was another young Chinese Officer, Lt David Fu Chee Meng, who too was awarded the PGB at the Battle of Tanah Hitam.
So those guys were not patriotic enough for you? Here is my favourite, someone I know personally, Sergeant Choo Woh Soon PGB, my wife's uncle. The short guy in the centre is Sergeant Choo Woh Soon PGB.
This guy, patriotic enough for you? How about this Indian Officer and Chinese soldier dying together to save your sorry butt from the Commies? ,Captain Shanmuganathan PGB and 207770 Ranger Mat Isa bin Hassan PGB, do not be deceived by the name Mat Isa, he was a Chinese. How about this Indian Officer who laid down his life at the "ripe old age of 24"? Captain Mohana Chandran al Velayuthan (200402) Seri Pahlawan Gagah Perkasa . Not patriotic enough for you? How about this where a sorry excuse, for an officer, caused the death of 13 Italian airmen in the Congo, Malaysia's name had to be salvaged in this incident by 2Lt N.H. Siebel PGB and Captain Maurice Lam PGB, notice their names, they were Non Malays.
How about the time in Bosnia where soldiers desecrated a Catholic Cross, again the situation was salvaged by the Non Malays. For posterity I have another link here. I will not even talk about the vandalising of the Hoba Meteorite in Namibia (RMR involved). Okay continuing some more, here is another Indian who got the PGB, 2Lt Panir Chellvum al Velaithan PGB. Still not patriotic enough for you? Here is another Indian, who after serving a total of 29 years in both the Police Force and the Army is denied his pension. The reason being he did not attend the weapons course and tactics course. What weapons and tactics course, when he and his men wiped out the remnants of the enemy in Selangor, what would his unshaved instructors teach him?
Read about him, Captain Courageous aka Mukhtiar Singh s/o Sodagar Singh. In any other Army in the world today, they would have cited him for courage and piled honours on him without any questions asked, unfortunately he is an Indian in Malaysia, get that Zahid?
Here is a picture of an all Chinese group of Kinta Valley Homeguards who fought the Malayan Communist Party.
More pictures here.
The problem with people like Zahid Hamidi is he does not know about people like these Chinese and Indians who were willing to die for Malaysia unconditionally, they only wanted to be treated fairly. The current situation is like "some people are more equal than others". People like him are WIND BAGS, full of foul air and all empty talk. If you notice the minorities were significant in numbers in the forces when Malaysia was in danger, from the Japanese occupation of Malaya, the Emergency, Confrontation and the subsequent Emergency until the cessation of hostilities by the MCP.
Remember the Communist Party of Malaya, did not surrender. It was a treaty for the cessation of hostilities. Freeing our Great Leader to push his agenda of Ketuanan Melayu, subsequently his achievements were these , he could not do it when the MCP was on the warpath as it would increase their numbers. Zahid being an ardent fan of this old goat, is still playing to the gallery.
Soldiers who have served, the Non Malays know what it is to be discriminated against, because of their race and religion. Even the Bumiputras of Sabah and Sarawak are discriminated against, as most of them are Christians. While at this, being an ex- soldier and all, I have seen many East Malaysian Officers serving in combat units, why did not any one of them make it to General?
Not good enough? Look at how brave, loyal and patriotic they are. Go to the archives. After seeing the results of the Sibu "buy elections", where the BN lost, I guess they saw the writing on the wall and recently promoted an Iban Officer to become the first Iban who made it to General, Stephen Mundaw, in September this year.
Anyway that is peanuts, East Malaysians should demand and expect at least a 4 star General from amongst the Ibans, whose bodies have been littered across the battle fields in Malaysia. Their courage and ferocity in battle is unmatched. After having served many years and plodding along, being bypassed by juniors and incompetents.
There so many grievances, not enough space to write at one go, is it not heart wrenching? Even your children, who are brilliant are discriminated by virtue of race and religion, you expect patriotism to burn brightly in the hearts of the Non Malays? Treat everyone equally on a level playing field, you will not need to ask for the Non Malays to defend this country, the numbers would be so huge that you would have to send most of them back.
In the military the Non Malay is ridden like a horse, for the greater benefit of the majority. No rewards, when it comes to promotions and benefits, they forget you. You know that old race horse, it runs until it drops dead or put out to pasture. Most Non Malays make it to the rank of Major, I am sure you have heard this before, about the "infamous glass ceiling". That is the rank you have to be happy with.
You are not promoted on merit, I know of guys who can barely speak English, but become Generals. During my time all the courses were in English. Ask the ex and serving Non Malays, not forgetting the subtle hints to convert. They do not even respect your faith by suggesting that, they look down on you.
Relgious and racial discrimination go hand in hand together. I have also had the privilege of seeing a General's knees tremble, when he stepped out of my Infantry Fighting Vehicle, as I helped him down, this was after an exchange of fire.  I was the escort commander and he was riding in my IFV in Somalia.
A hundred Non Malays would without hesitation and asking questions, charge a hill of 10,000 enemy, if you treated them and their offspring, as Malaysians and not as Dhimmis and second class citizens to defend their country, Malaysia.I could continue shellacking Ahmad Zaid until the cows come home, it is us who are to be blamed.
He is the MP for Bagan Datuk, those of us who continue supporting MCA and the MIC, are actually getting him elected year in, year out. Your votes have made him arrogant. If you notice his majority is actually shrinking. So the strongest message for that dimwit, would be to boot this racist UMNO supremacist out of Parliament in the next general elections.
Never forget. Of course all of you out there can post your comments, feel free to use this post.

How Gurney's killer died By Jaspal Singh 2009/03/10
Sunday, April 05, 2009
This report in the New Straits Times report mentions only one of Gurney's killers. Here is the guy who eliminated at least two of them. A pistol and two Tommy guns, assorted ammunition and equipment were recovered from the dead Enemy.

Image: Sergeant Choo Woh Soon PGB, click on image to enlarge

One of the enemy who was killed was Ngow Lai , who was a Branch Committee Member of the Malayan Communist Party. Ngow Lai was involved in the ambush and the killing of the High Commissioner of Malaya, Sir Henry Gurney in 1951. He was also involved in the killing of Mrs. Nora Stutchbury, wife of the District Officer of Bentong. She was killed along the Kuala Lumpur –Bentong road. in 1950. The other two dead Enemies were Mo Sze Chuan and San Cheng. All were from the 6th Assault Unit. In full about Sergeant Choo Woh Soon PGB.

IPOH: The many people who come to Gunung Lang, a famed recreational spot here, may be unaware that it was once a hideout for communist rebels because of its network of caves. It was here that Siu Mah, infamous for ambushing and killing British High Commissioner Sir Henry Gurney in Fraser's Hill in 1951, took shelter.

Image: Frank Heron (right) describing the events of Nov 10, 1958, when he was part of a mission by the British army to capture communist leader Siu Mah, the man who had assassinated Sir Henry Gurney seven years earlier. — NST picture by Ikhwan Munir

It was also here that Siu Mah's body was unceremoniously dumped from the top of a cliff after he was executed by his bodyguards.Following Gurney's death, the British administration placed a bounty of 15,000 Malayan dollars on Siu Mah's head. It was only in 1958, though, that the search for the communist leader would end.

Frank Heron, 72, remembers the time well. He arrived on Malayan shores in 1957 as a conscript in the 1st Battalion of the Loyal Regiment, based in Camp Colombo (now the Malaysian army's Second Brigade headquarters) in Ashby Road (Jalan Hospital). He was sent to the Kuala Kuang new village, about 15km from here, where he performed the duties of a bugler.

"On Nov 10, 1958, my commander, Lt-Col Thompson, instructed me and about 18 others to arm ourselves for an undisclosed mission. As we reached Gunung Lang, we we were told that we were to capture Siu Mah," he told the New Straits Times while on a trip down memory lane in Gunung Lang recently.Heron said that as the platoon was preparing to take on Siu Mah, nicknamed Little Horse, a gunshot rang out.

"Minutes later, two men came out from one of the caves and told us that they had killed the Little Horse. I offered a rope to bring down Siu Mah's body but they said it was not necessary."They went back inside the cave, came out with the body and, just like that, threw it down the cliff. The shot was right to the forehead." The event, said Heron, remained the most compelling memory of his two-year conscription in Malaya. It brought him back to the country 50 years after returning to his hometown in Lancashire, England.

Heron came to Gunung Lang to look at the spot where Siu Mah was killed, but development left the place unrecognisable to Heron and he was unable to locate the spot."But, I am not disheartened. This country has progressed so much since I left that I feel honoured to be back here now. "I can only hope that the younger generations will not forget this nation's struggle to be where it is now," he said, as he took a last look at the cliffs of Gunung Lang. The New Straits Times

In the military, the non-Malay is ridden like a horse Written by Major (Rtd) D.Swami Friday, 26 November 2010 - Republishing Today
Wednesday, April 24, 2024

Lim Kit Siang : Defence Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi remarked that non-Malays shun a military career because they lacked patriotism. His sense of history and of the contributions of the Chinese, Indians and our brothers from East Malaysia towards the sovereignty of Malaysia leaves something to be desired. Zahid’s is a racist and bigoted view, pure and simple.

I’ve previously blogged about the winners of valour awards, not including those who had laid down their lives, are maimed, and not forgetting the non-Malay police officers.

I guess when the Chinese and Indians were bleeding and dying for this country, Zahid might just have been a dirty glint in his father’s eyes. I am not insulting this dull fellow, just that this shallow-minded individual needs some input regarding who was the first Malaysian to be awarded the Pingat Gagah Berani. He was a Chinese! Sergeant Chong Yong Chin PGB of the First Federation Regiment.

Dey Zahid, I suppose you did not know that. Insults have to be politely reciprocated with civility, I am doing just that.

Did you not know who was the first recipient of the Pingat Gagah Berani in the Congo? That person too was a Chinese, Lieutenant Lee Ah Pow PGB, read about how shoddily he was treated too! It had to take Brigadier R.S. Noronha of the Indian army (during a UN peacekeeping mission in Congo) to recommend him for an award. Lt Lee had shown exemplary courage and tremendous restraint under fire, yet his own Malaysian high command overlooked his valour.

There was another young Chinese officer, Lt David Fu Chee Meng, who too was awarded the PGB at the Battle of Tanah Hitam.

So those guys were not patriotic enough for you? Here is my favourite, someone I know personally, Sergeant Choo Woh Soon PGB, my wife’s uncle. The short guy in the centre of the photo is Sergeant

Choo Woh Soon PGB. This guy, patriotic enough for you?

Here is another Indian who got the PGB, Second Lieutenant Panir Chellvum a/l Velaithan PGB. Still not patriotic enough for you?

M’sian soldiers burn cross

How about this where a sorry excuse for an officer caused the death of 13 Italian airmen in the Congo. The Malay Major had shirked his responsibilities of providing the airmen with protection, placed them in danger by ordering them to be brought to the mess and allowed them to be captured by the rebels. The Major then further disgraced himself by ordering all the officers and men at the mess to surrender their weapons to the rebels who had surrounded them, which they did sheepishly.

Malaysia’s name had to be salvaged in this incident by Second Lieutenants N.H. Siebel PGB and Captain Maurice Lam PGB, notice their names, they were non-Malays.

How about the time in Bosnia where soldiers desecrated a Catholic Cross? Again the situation was salvaged by the non-Malays. For posterity I have another link here about how the then Defence Minister Najib Razak excused the burning of Croation Catholic cross by two Malaysian UN peacekeepers stationed in Bosnia-Herzegovina as “unintentional”.

I will not even talk about the vandalising of the Hoba meteorite in Namibia.

Here is another Indian, who after serving a total of 29 years in both the police force and the army is denied his pension. The reason being he did not attend the weapons course and tactics course. East M’sians discriminated against

People like Zahid are wind bags, full of foul air and all empty talk.

If you notice the minorities were significant in numbers in the forces when Malaysia was in danger, from the Japanese occupation of Malaya, the Emergency, Confrontation and the subsequent Emergency until the cessation of hostilities by the Malayan Communist Party.

Remember the Communist Party of Malaya did not surrender. It was a treaty for the cessation of hostilities. Freeing our Great Leader to push his agenda of Ketuanan Melayu, subsequently his achievements were … I shall just cite one, i.e. the amazing statement that Anwar Ibrahim socked himself in the left eye to gain public sympathy and give the police a bad name. Mahathir could not do many of the things he has done if the Malayan Communist Party was on the warpath as it would increase their numbers. Zahid, being an ardent fan of this old goat, is still playing to the gallery.

Soldiers who have served, the non-Malays, know what it is to be discriminated against because of their race and religion. Even the Bumiputras of Sabah and Sarawak are discriminated against, as most of them are Christians.

Anyway that is peanuts, East Malaysians should demand and expect at least a 4-star General from amongst the Ibans, whose bodies have been littered across the battle fields in Malaysia. Their courage and ferocity in battle is unmatched.

Lack of promotion prospects

After having served many years and plodding along, being bypassed by juniors and incompetents, there are so many grievances. There is not enough space to write it all at one go. Is it not heart wrenching? You expect patriotism to burn brightly in the hearts of the non-Malays when our children are discriminated by virtue of race and religion?

Treat everyone equally on a level playing field and you will not need to ask for the non-Malays to defend this country. The numbers would be so huge that you would have to send most of them back.

In the military, the non-Malay is ridden like a horse, for the greater benefit of the majority. No rewards, when it comes to promotions and benefits … they forget you. You know about the old race horse, that it runs until it drops dead or is put out to pasture. Most non-Malays make it to the rank of Major, I am sure you have heard this before, about the infamous glass ceiling. That is the rank you have to be happy with.

You are not promoted on merit. I know of guys who can barely speak English but become Generals. During my time all the courses were in English. Ask the ex and serving non-Malays about the subtle hints to convert. They do not even respect your faith by suggesting that. If they’re always hinting to you that you should convert, it means they look down on you.

Religious and racial discrimination go hand in hand.

I have also had the privilege of seeing a General’s knees tremble, when he stepped out of my Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV) as I helped him down. This was after an exchange of fire. I was the escort commander and he was riding in my IFV in Somalia.

A hundred non-Malays would, without hesitation and asking questions, charge a hill of 10,000 enemies to defend their country, Malaysia, if you treated them and their offspring as Malaysians and not as dhimmis and second-class citizens.

I could continue shellacking Ahmad Zahid until the cows come home but it is us who are to be blamed. He is the MP for Bagan Datuk, Perak. Those of us who continue supporting MCA and the MIC, are actually getting him elected year in, year out. Your votes have made him arrogant. If you notice his majority is actually shrinking. So the strongest message for the Defence Minister would be to boot this racist Umno supremacist out of Parliament in the next general elections.

Never forget.

In the military, the Non-Malay is ridden like a horse

This is shit being spewed aginst the Non Muslims"....and I am being extremely polite, for his statement that "non-Malays shun a military career because they lacked patriotism".
Zahid Hamidi migh get buried, instead, in Bagan Datuk - The New Prime Minister will be from Perak
Saturday, April 06, 2013
Perak Umno chairperson Mohd Zahid Hamidi has vowed to make sure that opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim will not win any seat he contests in the state. "We will make sure that he loses," he promised when met by reporters after attending the BN supreme council meeting at the Putra World Trade Centre today. Zahid vows to 'bury' Anwar in Perak. What a boast, humble pie is around!

He is actually running scared, not only him, the rest of of the UMNO too are, from the big>gest fry, the PM to the smallest. How wonderful for the Perakians to have a Prime Minister from Perak!! Revenge for all Perakians is a dish best served cold, for using mercenary minded frogs, for the Coup Detat conducted by UMNO, to take over power illegally.  Yes, he is looking at a strong likelihood that he might get buried!! He was in in the plot, all Perakians know that.

How darned proud the Perakians  will be when an MP from the state of Perak becomes the Prime Minister of Malaysia!! UMNO MP'S  from Perak cannot even have the wildest  of wet  dreams, of becoming the Prime Minister of Malaysia. There have  been PM's only from Kedah, Johore and Pahang. UMNO is quaking in it's boots, because of this. There is a very strong possibility Zahid Hamidi will lead the opposition in Perak after GE-13, that is the reason for all that  bravado

I remember
that day the UMNO government was sworn in at  Kuala Kangsar (a day of infamy in the history of Perak). After the ceremonies, Zahid and his entourage were making their way back towards Ipoh at around 1800hrs+, escorted by a police helicopter and police body guards in numerous cars. There was an accident involving a trailer just after the Jelapang tunnel, which resulted in a massive traffice jam. The police escort started forcing everyone to the side, even waving their sub machine guns at the public very arrogantly.  I gestured to the police "where else do you want us to go', angrily as we had run out of space and road. Some of the cars nearly grazed one another as the road was making it's way down a steep incline to the Jelapang toll plaza. The curb was not wide, the cars tyres were virtually in the dirt and yet the police were still forcing everyone to move further aside to the edge of the drain.

Just then as I pulled aside onto the curb, Zahid passed me, I actually saw a  smirk on his face. That was a day of mourning for Perak and the voters who elected a legitimate government only to be robbed by UMNO. Well, we can wipe the smirk off Zahid Hamidi's face, come this election and place him in the opposition. Let us Perakians, rise to the occasion, to put an end to Zahid's political arrogance, Perak appropriately should be his Waterloo

If the readers out there remember how he insulted the Non-Malays, who also make up his constituency, by calling them unpatriotic.  Scroll down below to see how he did in Bagan Datuk in 2008. Just to refresh.

Police lifeline for Mukhtiar By Masami Mustaza October 28, 2008 The Malay Mail
Sunday, November 02, 2008
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan has extended a possible lifeline to recognise the contributions of Capt (Rtd) Mukhtiar Singh, 75, in light of his plight at being denied a pension after retiring from the Malaysian Armed Forces 30 years ago. While the Defence Ministry reiterated last Friday that Mukhtiar fell short of requirements to be eligible for a pension, Musa yesterday gave a glimmer of hope to the ex-serviceman, whose hero status was bestowed upon him during the 12 years, five months and four days he had served with the police.

“We understand Mukhtiar’s contributions deserve the recognition that is due to him and we will do our best to help him. “At present, I advise him to see us with all the documentation and particulars he has, dating from the time he was with the police. “In the meantime, we will check our records as to his status, such as the person who employed him, the kind of services agreement he had with the administration back then and whether he is enrolled with our pension programme before a decision can be made on what happens next,” he said in a telephone interview. When contacted, Mukhtiar expressed pleasure at the show of support from the police.

“It is good that they are stepping up to do something about my plight because it shows that they do recognise my services. However, if the police can do that, why can’t the Defence Ministry?” he asked. Mukhtiar had served as a Short Service Commission (SSC) officer with the armed forces for only for eight years, five months and 12 days — short of the 10 years required to qualify for a pension. As such, he was only eligible to be awarded a terminal gratuity of RM8,332.50. Prior to that, Mukhtiar had served as a permanent trainer with the Territorial Army Regiment for four years and 11 months and then as a permanent officer with the regiment for three years and six months, but was not eligible to be awarded terminal gratuity.

In 1982, the government approved a new regulation, which provided that a SSC officer could be a awarded service pension and terminal gratuity if he was to retire upon reaching the compulsory age of 50 and had served for not less than 10 years on or after July 1, 1980. This ruling could not help Mukhtiar to be eligible for pension because he retired on June 12, 1978. The only consolation the Defence Ministry can offer Mukhtiar is to review the terminal gratuity that has been awarded to him. The percentage for terminal gratuity has increased from 10 per cent to 15 per cent under the Regular Forces (Pension, Gratuities and Other Benefits) Regulation 1982.

Chronology Oct 15:Malay Mail reproduces a letter written by Lt Col (Rtd) Mohd Idris Hassan highlighting Army Captain (Rtd) Mukhtiar Singh's plight which was posted on the Seventh Rangers blog (7rangers.blogspot.com)

Oct 17:
More details about Mukhtiar's plight emerge. He had been fighting for 30 years to be eligible for pension. Helped by his friend of over 40 years, Mohd Idris, who is putting together a binder which consists of articles of Mukhtiar’s achievements. With this in hand, Mohd Idris plans to bring Mukhtiar’s story to light through the proper channels, by approaching Members of Parliament and the Prime Minister’s Department. For years, they have written letters and approached the Veterans Affairs Department at the Defence Ministry. But the replies were always the same — Mukhtiar could not receive any pension because he did not attend the “Platoon Weapons” and the “Young Officers Tactics Course”, both of which were held just prior to his retirement from the army.

Oct 20:
Words of encouragement pour in from Malay Mail readers. The well-wishers, comprising retired servicemen and civilians from all races and backgrounds, called on the authorities, in particular the Defence Ministry and Pensions Department, to recognise the role Mukhtiar played in safeguarding the country from the Communists during the Emergency.

Oct 22:
Mukhtiar's plight is highlighted in Parliament by Wangsa Maju MP Wee Choo Keong. After Parliament proceedings ended, Wee was approached by an officer from the Defence Ministry who asked for Mukhtiar’s service number, which would be referred to the Ministry’s Record and Pension Directorate. Meanwhile, the Defence Ministry’s assistant director of public relations, Col Fadzlette Othman Merican, said a thorough investigation of Mukhtiar’s case was being carried out by its Record and Pension Directorate.

Oct 23:
Mukhtiar recieves an official response from the Defence Ministry rejecting his claim for pension, citing his non-attendance at two compulsory courses during his tenure in the armed forces. In addition, he was deemed not eligible as he had not served up to 21 years with the Armed Forces. This was because his years of service in the police force prior to joining the army were not taken into account.

Oct 24:After his rejection, the Veterans Affairs Department offers to to help with alternative means of financial aid. Indian Ex-servicemen's Association president Sgt (Rtd) T. Nagarajan contacted the Malay Mail to announce that the association would hold a meeting soon to discuss how it could assist Mukhtiar. While happy for the show of support, Mukhtiar replied: "The issue isn’t about me needing financial aid. It’s about getting recognition for my services to the country. For ex-servicemen like myself, receiving pension is proof of recognition for our contributions." The Malay Mail
